Πριν λίγο έγινε διαθέσιμο το iBooks 1.3 μέσω του App Store με μερικές σημαντικές προσθήκες και βελτιώσεις. Συγκεκριμένα, προστέθηκε η δυνατότητα φωνητικής ανάγνωσης συγκεκριμένων παιδικών βιβλίων στο iBookstore από πραγματικούς αφηγητές έτσι ώστε να βοηθηθούν τα παιδιά στην ανάγνωση αυτών των βιβλίων.
