PM: We will follow Ireland’s successful model

In statements after the meeting, Samaras said that Ireland is on the recovery course and very soon will return to the markets. “We will follow the same successful model to exit the crisis, as well as in our EU presidency, which will begin on January 2014.

“In the last decades Ireland has selected competitiveness and extroversion that have led it to high levels of growth. Both helped Ireland to exit the crisis”, noted Samaras and referred to Ireland’s low taxation model, adding that Greece must follow the same model as soon as the country enters a course of economic growth.
