Μια Mercedes-Benz 600 (W100) με 0 χλμ και μια Jaguar E-Type βρέθηκαν σε αποθήκες

Όχι, δεν είναι δίκιο αυτό τέτοια αριστουργήματα να μένουν ξεχασμένα σε κάποια αποθήκη και να “αναπαύονται” κάτω από έναν παχύ στρώμα σκόνης. Ο λόγος για μια Mercedes-Benz 600 (W100) του 1965 και μια Jaguar E-Type, οι οποίες βρέθηκαν εγκαταλελειμμένες σε Ολλανδία και Αγγλία αντίστοιχα.

Μόλις 2.677 Mercedes 600 κατασκευάστηκαν από το 1963 έως και το 1981 με τις 2.190 σαν και αυτή, να διαθέτουν το κοντό μεταξόνιο. Η συγκεκριμένη εδώ και 48 χρόνια δεν έχει διανύσει

ούτε ένα χλμ, και αρχικά παραδόθηκε σε έναν Αμερικάνο το 1965. Εκεί έμεινε έως το 2007 όταν από τη Καλιφόρνια πήγε στην Ολλανδία με τον πωλητή που έχει αναλάβει την πώληση να ζητά σήμερα €95.000.

Σε ότι αφορά την Jaguar E-Type, αυτή σκούριαζε για περισσότερα από 30 χρόνια σε ένα Αγγλικό γκαράζ, μέχρι να την βρει η Classic Motor Cars of Brighton (CMC), δίνοντας €130.300 για να την κάνει δική της. Πρόκειται για την 60στη E-Type που βγήκε από το εργοστάσιο της Jaguar το 1961 και έχει διανύσει 104.600 χλμ.

BARN-FIND JAGUAR E-TYPE NO. 60 TO BE RESTORED BY CMC

A 1961 Jaguar E-Type ‘Flat Floor’ Roadster which has lain dormant in a garage for more than 30 years is to be restored by Classic Motor Cars of Bridgnorth (CMC).

This car was the sixtieth to leave the production line and is one of the earliest 3.8-litre right hand drive E-Type roadsters, which remain un-restored with only 65,000 miles covered from new. These early E-Types were labelled ‘flat floor’ due to the lack of a dropped floor area that increased the leg room and was added in subsequent cars.

It was expected to make £20-30,000 at Bonhams’ RAF Museum sale on April 29th but sold instead for £110,000, more than three times its highest pre-sale estimate.

NickGoldthorp, Managing Director of CMC, said: “Chassis No. 60 will be undergoing a full nut and bolt CMC restoration. We will restore every detail of the car to bring it back to the original specification. Once finished, it will be just as it left the factory.”

He added: “The amazing about this E-Type is that every original part is there, although in a very rusty and corroded condition.”

CMC is famous for having restored some of the most historic E-Types, including Lofty England’s Chassis No. 4, the Lindner-Nocker Lightweight and 1VHP, the first RHD Coupe off the production line.
